Ideation and choosing a design

I sketched many thumbnails, pairing a need to save space with a need for space to work at home. This involved lots of transforming and fold out/up furniture. I chose a design that worked well in order to maximise space usage, being useful in two ways, a desk and also as shelves.

Design development

I developed the basic design through sketching, digital renders and creating a model in the CAD software Rhino. I made changes to the design such as incorporating a hexagonal infill to reduce the weight and cost of the plastic tables. I also changed the way the table moved into place.
